1. Agreement Overview

This End-User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal contract between you ("User") and Klvr AS, a Norwegian company ("Klvr"), governing your use of the Klvr Control application ("Software"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

2. Grant of License

Klvr grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, royalty-free license to install and use the Software solely to manage Klvr Charger Pro devices on your local network.

This license permits use on Windows 10+ and macOS 10.15+ platforms, for both personal and commercial purposes, limited to interaction with officially supported Klvr hardware.

3. Restrictions

You shall not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code.
  • Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works.
  • Resell, sublicense, lease, or otherwise redistribute the Software.
  • Use the Software with any non-Klvr hardware.

4. Privacy and Data Handling

Klvr Control is designed for maximum privacy:

  • No personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted by the application.
  • No telemetry, tracking, or analytics are embedded.
  • All data is processed locally and in-memory only.

During download via the Klvr website, we collect your name, email, country, and platform. This data is not linked to application usage.

5. Local Network & External Services

The Software:

  • Scans the local network using mDNS for Klvr devices.
  • Communicates via HTTP with local devices.
  • Uses HTTPS GET requests to GitHub API (api.github.com) for update availability checks.

No data is shared with third parties beyond version check requests. Update functionality is user-initiated and limited to version checks only.

6. Update Mechanisms

Application Updates:

  • Sourced from Github release repo
  • Delivered via electron-updater.
  • Initiated manually at the users discretion.

Hardware Firmware Upgrades:

  • Sourced from Github release repo
  • Delivered directly to Klvr devices on the local network after user confirmation.
  • Controlled entirely by the user.

7. Compatibility & Requirements

KLVR Control is compatible only with Klvr Charger Pro. It requires:

  • Local network access (WiFi or Ethernet)
  • Optional internet access (only for updates)

macOS users must explicitly allow local network access at first launch. Administrator privileges are required for installation on both platforms.

8. Security & Processing

  • All processing is local and ephemeral.
  • No authentication or account system exists.
  • Session data is stored only temporarily in memory and cleared upon app closure.
  • All network calls are secured using HTTPS and verified certificates (GitHub release repo only).

9. Intellectual Property

All rights to the Software, trademarks ("Klvr"), and accompanying materials are owned by Klvr AS. Open-source dependencies are used under their respective licenses.

10. Limitation of Liability

Klvr is not liable for:

  • Any loss or damage resulting from software or firmware updates.
  • Interruptions due to third-party services (e.g. GitHub API downtime).
  • Hardware damage caused by improper usage or update interruption.

The Software is provided "as is", with no warranties, express or implied.

11. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. It will terminate automatically without notice if you breach this Agreement. Upon termination, you must uninstall the Software.

12. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be resolved in Norwegian courts, with Oslo as the exclusive legal venue.
